Whitney Wolanin, is a professional recording artist and singer, on TopNotch® Records. Whitney is also a songwriter, piano player, drummer and actress.
Whitney Wolanin (pronunced WO-Lan-in) maintains an A average in school where she is in the International Baccalaureate World School Program. Whitney is active in sports, including basketball, softball and volleyball.
In 2005, Whitney released her debut album, “Funkology XIII” containing 13 songs recorded by her at age 13. “It Takes Two,” her duet with former Survivor lead singer Jimi Jamison, hit #9 at radio on FMQB's AC40 Chart, was a #1 most added song around the US, and spent 20 weeks on the chart. Wolanin's original teen empowerment anthem “Good” stayed on the same radio airplay chart for 47 weeks, hitting #7 with over 50,000 spins at radio.
In 2006, Whitney released “Christmasology”, a collection of the world's favorite sacred and secular classics recorded by her at age 15. On “Christmasology”, Whitney's recording brings thumping drums and bass, electric guitars, and blues piano to 15 songs of the season, including “Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree”, “Frosty The Snowman”, “O Come All Ye Faithful” and “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas.” “Frosty the Snowman” was the #1 Most Added Christmas Song at radio the week of November 5, 2006 and November 19, 2006. In December 2006 Whitney Wolanin "Frosty the Snowman" peaked at #11 on R&R Media Base & Billboard Top 40 Radio Airplay Charts and was played on over 800 radio stations plus in 1,300 movie theaters during the holiday season. Christmas (the Warmest Time of the Year) an original Holiday tune co-written & co-produced by Whitney Wolanin, Bob Babbitt and her father Vincent Wolanin made the Top 100 airplay chart at #87 in 2005. Whitney Wolanin music is available on iTunes and other download sites around the world.
Whitney is currently writing and co-producing original songs for a new EP release in 2007. Victoria Wolanin, her piano-playing composer sister, is co-writing some of the new song material.
Youth Crime Watch of America picked Whitney Wolanin as their featured celebrity spokesperson to help young people avoid problems on the internet. Whitney's Online Safety Tips are featured in various languages on YCWA websites throughout the world. Whitney Wolanin has been a yearly participant in the annual Rockin' Christmas Fund charity fundraiser event held each year to help needy kids. Whitney has also participated in visiting various Children's Hospitals with other celebrities, plus providing personally signed CDs to all the children at the Shriners Hospitals nationwide at Christmas time.
