(1954)

White Christmas was Bing Crosby's third Decca long play album, recorded and originally released in 1954 as the main soundtrack for the White Christmas. (It was not, however, a true soundtrack, but in fact studio recordings of the film's songs done at Decca's studios. Rosemary Clooney released an alternate soundtrack on her label, Columbia, the same year.)

Bing Crosby's fellow White Christmas co-stars Clooney and Vera-Ellen belonged to other record labels, so this album was recorded with Peggy Lee and Trudy Stevens in their place. Stevens also dubbed Vera-Ellen in the film version.

The music and lyrics were written by Irving Berlin.

The album was released on CD by MCA in 1994, but is now out-of-print. In the U.K. it was released in 2002 as part of a 2-on-1 CD with the studio recordings of the songs from Holiday Inn (1942). A special edition, combined with the DVD of the film, was sold in Starbucks stores during the holiday season in 2006.
