Whitby—Ajax is an electoral district in Ontario, Canada. It was represented in the Canadian House of Commons from 1997 to 2003, and has been represented in Legislative Assembly of Ontario since 1999. It is located to the east of Toronto.
The federal riding was created in 1996, from parts of Durham and Ontario ridings. The provincial riding was created in 1998 from Durham Centre, Durham East and Durham West.
Whitby—Ajax consists of the Town of Whitby and the part of the Town of Ajax lying to the south of Kingston Road.
The federal electoral district was abolished in 2003 when it was redistributed between Ajax—Pickering and Whitby—Oshawa ridings; however, it will remain in use provincially until the next provincial election. A by-election was held on March 30, 2006 as a result of the resignation of Member of Provincial Parliament Jim Flaherty, who defeated the federal Member of Parliament Judi Longfield in Whitby—Oshawa in the January 2006 federal election. Progressive Conservative candidate Christine Elliott, Flaherty's wife, defeated Liberal candidate Longfield, NDP candidate Julie Gladman, and Freedom Party candidate and leader, Paul McKeever.
