Whipple Point Light

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Whipple Point Light was a small lighthouse constructed on the Vermont side of Lake Memphremagog in 1879. A hexagonal wooden tower on a red octagonal pier, it stood 13' tall, and showed a fixed white light, visible for 10 miles, at a focal plane of 27' above sea level. The structure was not painted.

The lighthouse no longer exists; what happened to it, or when it was discontinued, is unknown.
