"Where Is My Mind?" is a song by the Pixies that began side two of their 1988 LP Surfer Rosa. The song was written by Black Francis while he attended the University of Massachusetts, inspired by his experiences scuba diving in the Caribbean. "Where Is My Mind?" was the first song that many initial listeners purchasing Surfer Rosa heard because the sides were switched on the original cassette version of the album.[citation needed]
[edit] Use in films and on television
The song plays during the final moments and credits of the 1999 movie Fight Club. It is also featured in the surfing movie Lost Across America Volume II, The Decline of Surfing Civilization, produced by Lost Enterprises; The Adventures of Sebastian Cole; and the television series Veronica Mars (episode 2x02, 'Driver Ed'). Dustin Dollin, a professional skateboarder for Baker Skateboards used the song in his part in Baker 2G. The song is also played in episode 2x11, "Sex, Birth, and Death" from Criminal Minds
