When The Smoke Clears: 66:61 is the fourth full length album from Three 6 Mafia, as well as the first platinum album for Three 6 Mafia, Hypnotize Mindz, and Memphis rap in general. It includes smash hits such as "Who Run It" (which was also on the Hypnotize Camp Posse compilation album that came out earlier in 2000), "Tongue Ring", and "Sippin On Some Syrup". The latter would go on to become the biggest hit of their career (until Stay Fly came out in 2005 and made them a crossover success). A lot of long time fans will notice that this album is a lot more laid back (both in lyrics and production) and has a lot more melody than some of their earlier work (Mystic Stylez and Chapter 1: The End in paticular) Yet they still manage to retain hardcore themes, such as their desire to have women(preferably with a tongue ring) perform fellatio on them (Track 12: Tongue Ring),gang affiliations (Track 21: Put Ya Signs), smoking marijuana (Track 6: I'm So Hi), as well as many other themes throughout the album. At one point in the album, group member Lord Infamous lashes out against those who claim Three 6 Mafia is a satanic group. He says "Ask me if I worship Satan I'ma send yo ass to see em". Another interesting note is that this is the last full length Three 6 Mafia album to feature group members Koopsta Knicca and Gangsta Boo. Koopsta Knicca would leave early in 2001, not long after this album went platinum, and Gangsta Boo would follow suit later in the same year. Track 21, "Put Ya Signs" would be the last song they would ever do together as a whole group, who at the time consisted of DJ Paul, Juicy J, Lord Infamous, Crunchy Black (another member who would soon leave to pursue a solo career), Koopsta Knicca, and Gangsta Boo. This is their highest selling album to date.

[edit] Miscellaneous

• Project Pat's line on "Sippin On Some Syrup" was actually a sample from a verse for his song "Ballers" on his Ghetty Green (1999) album.
• "Who Run It" also appears on Three 6 Mafia Presents: Hypnotize Camp Posse (2000).
• In a recent interview, DJ Paul stated that this album is his favorite old school Three 6 Mafia album.
• The album cover has DJ Paul and Juicy J's faces put together. Many fans thought that it was just DJ Paul on the cover.
• Then No Limit rapper Fiend appears on this album. He rejoined Three 6 Mafia in 2002 to form Da Headbussaz
• G-Unit rapper Young Buck also appeared on this album. Him and Three 6 Mafia would also later on collaborate on the song "Stay Fly".
• Former member Koopsta Knicca doesn't appear on the album cover or in the booklet, even though he was still in the group at the time of this album's release. His album "The Devils's Playground" was even promoted in the album's outro.
