When Your Heart Stops Beating is the title of +44's debut album, which was released on November 14, 2006. The album was made available in three different colours: blue (as pictured), pink, and green. The album sold 7,753 copies in the United Kingdom and 73,000 copies worldwide in the first week of its release.

On October 19, 2006, When Your Heart Stops Beating debuted at #22 on the ARIA Albums Chart. In the U.S., the album debuted at #10 on the Billboard 200 with about 66,000 copies sold in its first week.[1]

  • Excluding bonus tracks, the album is exactly 44 minutes long. Although the cumulative running time of each track of the album clocks 43:54 minutes, an extra 6 seconds of silence are added throughout the album to give this final running time.

  • "Lycanthrope" was the second song released by the band. It was available for download on their official site on September 1, 2006.
  • "When Your Heart Stops Beating" was first released over KROQ radio.
  • On October 25, 2006, the song and "Cliff Diving" was leaked on the Internet from the album sampler. Even though it was the fourth song given to the public, it was the first leak not initiated by the band.

On P2P programs they have unreleased songs of +44.

  • On October 31, the acoustic version of "Baby, Come On" was released on iTunes.
  • On October 31, the acoustic version of "155" titled "145" (song is labeled for its tempo) was released on Yahoo! Music.
  • In late October, an electronic mix of "When Your Heart Stops Beating" was added to the band's official website and MySpace, the song is labeled as a B side on their MySpace.
  • The full album was available to hear on their MySpace during November until the album's US release on November 14.
  • On November 8, the album was available for streaming on MuchMusic, almost a week before its American release.
  • On November 10, the acoustic version of "Weatherman" was leaked.
  • On December 3, Fox Sports used "When Your Heart Stops Beating" in their post-game highlights as background music.

Reviews for the album were mixed, with a current Metacritic score of 60. While many rock and punk oriented publications gave it a high grade, mainstream sources such as Rolling Stone and the AP were less impressed with the album.
