Wheelchair Basketball at the 2004 Summer Paralympics was staged in the Olympic Indoor Hall from September 18-28.

Teams consist of twelve players, of whom five are on court at any one time. Each player is rated between 0.5 and 4.5 points, 4.5 representing the least physical limitation. The total rate of the players on court at any time must not exceed 14.5 points.

Games are played in 4 periods of 10 minutes, with extra time periods of 5 minutes added as necessary to resolve a tied game.
