What A Waster (2002) |
Up The Bracket (2002) |
What A Waster is the first single from The Libertines. A "waster", as used in the song, is an excessive user of drugs and alcohol. See Wiktionary's entry for waster. The song was used in the film The Football Factory. The song received little airplay due to its unyielding profanity. For critics and fans alike, it was a statement of intent that left few in any doubt that this band were the real deal. What a Waster was initially left off debut album Up The Bracket but was later included as the 13th track on a subsequent re-issue.
The song was also covered by Adam Green.
