The story is with a kid named Joey Pigza who has ADHD. The story starts out with his dad, Carter Pigza who also has ADHD, riding his motorcycle around the neighborhood resulting in his mother coming out to scream at him, resulting in him crashing his motorcycle into a tree. Where a branch stabs him. Throughout the story, Joey's mom has him homeschooled by Ms. Lapp, along with a cruel blind girl named, Olivia Lapp. his grandma wants joey to make friends with olivia lapp. His dog Pablo gets stolen,by his dad so he gets another dog named Pablita. Then he gets his dog back so he now has pablo and pablita. His grandmother dies, and Joey's mom's boyfriend breaks up with her.
