[edit] Summary
Hopper discovers that Rita is hiding a secret from him that may play a pivotal role in his repeating day.
[edit] Synopsis
Hopper carjacks Buchalter and Fencik then proceeds to meet Uncle Nick at the pier parking lot. He questions Damien's presence with Nick. Nick was the one who tipped off Damien about the 'hit' on his safehouse. Hopper tries to get information from Nick about Rita but Nick becomes defensive. Nick leaves with Hippo just as Hopper places a homing device on their car. Hopper then goes through the trunk of the shadow men and finds a video tape. It is Rita being pulled over by Buchalter in 2002. Hopper asks Andrea to research information about this incident but Andrea states there is not much to it. The report appeared to be cut off. They learn that Rita was questioned about a missing Curtis Foster.
Rita is brought in for questioning and Chad is by her side. Hopper proceeds to follow Uncle Nick at city hall. He overhears the discussion between Nick and Booth from a supply closet. Nick wants to get out of the mess by offering up Damien and suggests an untraceable place to stash a girl. Hopper assumes this is Rita. His hiding place is revealed when his cell phone goes off. He gets away and runs into Margo during the chase. Hopper goes after Nick to find out where they are hiding Rita but he is too late. Both Rita and Chad are dead.
On the repeat, Hopper proceeds to the location that Nick gave him and finds Margo gagged. The shadow men are after Nitzberg, the judge she works for. This judge will preside over a case of corruption at city hall. Hopper asks her to get him the sealed warrant she talked about. Hopper leaves to rescue his girlfriend. He convinces Chad to help him out, and they travel to the motel. They just miss Rita, but are able to save Billy by killing Detweiler. They also managed to save Rita, killing Buchalter and Detweiler's other two men in the process. He later finds out the truth about Curtis Foster, Rita's father, who died because of her. She was protecting her brother from severe physical abuse and accidentally killed their father in the process. It was Rita's brother, Billy, who called her to the motel where Deitwiler was waiting.
Booth meets up with Defense Attorney Barry Colburn. This is the same lawyer who Hopper turned to for help and the lawyer who got Rita out of her father's death. Booth is confident he can still get away with one more ace up his sleeve. He has an inside man. Meanwhile, Margo meets up with Hopper but can only provide him with a subpoena list. The corruption at city hall involves Booth. Garza was set to testify against him. Detective Spivak who has been pursuing Hopper since day one appears on the list..
