What Car?
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
What Car? is a long-running UK monthly automobile magazine and website, currently edited by Steve Fowler and published by Haymarket Motoring. It is intended primarily as a magazine for consumers rather than dedicated automobile enthusiasts. It contains an extensive buyers' guide section to help consumers to buy the right car and provides tips on how to get discounts on cars and car accessories.
Recently What Car? launched an Indian edition. It is published in India once in two months unlike the British edition which is a monthly edition.
What Car also had an Australian edition, titled Which Car?, it was published between 1995-2000. It was initially a monthly publication, then quarterly, then bi monthly, it was a very successful magazine at first, but it's popularity and content began to wane and it ceased publication in 2000. It was published by ACP magazines, the group that publishes the popular Wheels Magazine.
Whilst What Car used to be extremely successful, it is now outsold by its main competitor, BBC Magazines' Top Gear, by 70,000 copies per issue.
