WGTE is a PBS member station serving the Toledo, Ohio area. It is found on UHF channel 30 analog and channel 29 digital, and on Buckeye Cablesystem channel 9, in addition to other cable systems in Ohio and Michigan. It is visible in Northwest Ohio, Southeast Michigan (including Metro Detroit), and Windsor and Essex County (however, it is not carried on cable).

WGTE went on the air as the PBS affiliate for Toledo in October 1960 (though its website gave 1959 as its launch year as an NET memberstation). WGTE actually began broadcast as a low-power television station before that, beginning in 1953 on the University of Toledo campus, with a broadcast antenna in the belltower of University Hall.
