[edit] Woodington Players
The Woodington Players is the theater and drama group at Westwood High School. The name comes from a combination of the two towns that send their students to Westwood High School. West-wood and Township of Wash-ington make up the name. The group was founded by former English and Dramatics teacher Jerome Hurley. The group was very small and put on two dramas in the fall and spring. They performed in, what was then the Little Theater, The Jerome Hurley Theater. Many students who were a part of this group were considered to be in a cult. Since Hurley's retirement, new English and Dramatics teacher, Donna Bialkin has directed over twenty shows. Bialkin directed the first musical at Westwood in the Campbell Auditorium. Since then the Campbell Auditorium was reserved for band and choir concerts and major assemblies.
The Woodington Players have grown in popularity and have received many awards from the Paper Mill Playhouse of New Jersey
Such productions include: The Pink Panther Strikes Again, The Wiz, To See The Stars, Crazy For You, To Kill a Mockingbird, City of Angels, M*A*S*H, Guys And Dolls, The Man Who Came To Dinner, Once Upon A Mattress, Never Mind What Happened, How Did It End?, Into The Woods, Done To Death and Anything Goes (In Progress)
The Woodington Players also present a show of senior directed One-Act Plays in the spring. Two of these shows a year are selected to perform at the Bucks County One-Act Festival at the Bucks County Playhouse in New Hope, Pennsylvania.
