[Westone]http://www.westone.info/ was a brand of guitars and basses started in the late 1970's. [Saint Louis Music]http://www.stlouismusic.com/ of Saint Louis, MO, USA acquired an interest in the company in 1981 and began importing the brand to the USA. [Electra]http://www.rivercityamps.com/electra/ was also a brand of Saint Louis Music. In 1984, they combined the brands to make the Electra-Westone brand, from 1985-1990 just [Westone]http://www.westone.info/. Most of the [Westone]http://www.westone.info/ guitars of the 80's were made by the famed Matsumoku plant of Matsumotu, Japan and imported by [Saint Louis Music]http://www.stlouismusic.com/. The Westone name reappeared from 1996-2001 and all of the guitars I've seen from this period have been cheaper made in Korea models.
