[edit] Patronage
This station has one of the lowest patronage of any station on the Auckland network. It survives only because it is where train staff swap shifts. If it was not for this, this station would have been closed.[citation needed] The shelter structure is in very poor condition and provides little protection from the driving wind and rain which comes off the Manukau Harbour.
