Western Hill
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Western Hill is a place in County Durham, in England. It is situated to the west of the centre of Durham City.
Western Hill is made of Albert Street, West Terrace and Princess Street. The houses are mainly late Victorian terrace, with a few more recent properties.
Whilst Albert Street is numbered sequentially, ie 1-39 on one side and 40 onwards on the other it must have been built in plots rather than one go. around the mid 50s someone lost count, resulting in no number 53, and to get the numbers back working one house repeats the previous number with 1/2 tagged on or '5x & A half' as the Post Office have it.
