WDHS is located at 302 5th Avenue SW in Epworth, Iowa, a town of 1,580 people. The campus is along U.S. Highway 20 and Jacoby Drive W, near the Epworth interchange and Divine Word College. The school, a one-story building built in 1962, includes its own football field.

In the 2005-2006 school year, WDHS enrolled 745 students. Of those, 734 (98.5%) were White, 5 (.7%) were Black, 2 (.3%) were Asian, and 1 (.1%) was American Indian. 3 (.4%) students were Hispanic, and may be of any race. Additionally, 391 (52.5%) were male, and 354 (47.5%) were female.[1]
