Western Australian Medical Students Society

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Western Australian Medical Students' Society (WAMSS) is the representative body for medical students studying medicine as an undergraduate (6 year) or graduate (4.5 year) degree at the University of Western Australia. The representatives are elected around September to October of the year and serve a year long term.

WAMSS has several roles in medical student life. Firstly, it represents students and lobbies for their well-being to the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences. Secondly, it sends representatives to the national medical student union, the Australian Medical Students Association. Thirdly, it organises social, sporting, cultural and educational events for students in the medical school.
