West of Scotland Rugby Football Club are a Scottish rugby union club from Milngavie, just outside Glasgow. They are actually known as West Of Scotland Football Club even though they play Rugby Union as they were formed before there was a difference between Rugby and Football.
Formed in 1865 they played a founding role in establishing international rugby in Scotland.
They play in Red and Yellow coloured strips (uniforms), which the football (soccer) club Partick Thistle decided to copy in the 1930s when they switched from dark blue strips.
In 1867 they played against Glasgow Accademicals for the first time, in a fixture that is now one of the oldest surviving football matches in the world.
West of Scotland currently play in BT Premiership 3.
