The West Seneca Central School District was centralized in 1946 and is one of the largest central school districts in Western New York. It serves 25 square miles, including portions of the towns of West Seneca, Cheektowaga, Orchard Park, and Hamburg.
As of 2004, the school has 7,555 students in 12 school buildings:
- 3,804 kindergarten - sixth grade students in seven elementary buildings
- 1,309 seventh - eighth grade students in two middle schools
- 2,442 students in two high schools and alternative learning center
The district also has over 1,500 employees - teachers, administrators, and support staff - as of 2004.

At the high schools, over 10% of the students are enrolled in Advanced Placement Courses. Both high schools offer a National Finance Academy Diploma. Over 80% of the graduates seek higher education opportunities. Looping through grade levels have been implemented in the elementary grades as well as middle school. A district-wide gifted and talented program exists at the intermediate and middle school levels.
