West Omaha is a geographic area of Omaha, Nebraska.

The area, comprised of any area in the Omaha metropolitan area west of 72nd Street, dominates the city's population base, and is the target of a large majority of the city's development dollars. West Omaha is comprised of a majority white population and is formed of mostly affluent middle class and upper class workers and professionals.

West Omaha is home to several communities, including the historical Boys Town and Elkhorn. Chalco is an unincorporated area southwest of Omaha in northern Sarpy County widely regarded as West Omaha, as are the communities of La Vista, in north-central Sarpy County; Millard, a broad area of southwest Omaha that was originally a separate city and was annexed by Omaha in 1971; Papillion, a city south of Omaha and immediately south of La Vista that is the county seat of Sarpy County, and; Ralston, a city in south-central Douglas County roughly bounded by 72nd, 84th, L, and Harrison Streets that is surrounded by Omaha on three sides.
