West Mouse

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

West Mouse (Welsh Maen y Bugael) is an islet lying 1.1 kilometres off the north-east coast of Anglesey, Wales. Its maximum dimensions are 92 metres long by 82 metres wide, with an area of 1.2 acres.

At latitude 53° 25' 0" North, longitude 4° 32' 60" West it is in an area of notoriously strong tides. Because of this, at least three shipwrecks lie near it, making it a popular diving location. The area is also host to species such as hornwrack, sea squirts and conger eels. The island is part of a set of three spread out along the north coast of Anglesey. The other two islands are East Mouse and Middle Mouse.
