West Florence High School is a public secondary school serving grades 9 through 12 in Florence, SC. During the 2005-06 school year, 1600+ students attended the school, which is one of three high schools under the jurisdiction of Florence County School District One.

West Florence's main feeder schools are Henry L. Sneed Middle School and Moore Intermediate School.
[edit] Extracurricular Activities and Programs
West Florence offers its students many extracurricular activities including Beta Club, National Honor Society, and Model United Nations. In addition to the variety of extracurricular actives, West Florence provides an academic curriculum that includes Advanced Placement level classes in the following subjects: Psychology, English Literature, Statistics, Calculus, U.S. History, Biology, Chemistry,and Music Theory.
West Florence, which competes in South Carolina High School League AAAA , also has a wonderful athletic program including sports such as as Football, Basketball, Soccer, Tennis, Golf, Swimming, Cheerleading, Track and Field, Cross Country, Softball, and Baseball.
In 2006, West Florence Tennis team won the Class 4A Lower State championship. In 2007, they are currently ranked number 2 in the state. In 2006,the boys soccer team won the region 6 title.In 2003, West Florence Knights there second region title and went on to win the Lower State championship by defeating Dillon 14-7. They lost to Greer High School and ended there season with a 13-2 record. West Florence cheerleadering team won there 1st region title in 2006. In 2006, Jay Lucas won the AAAA championship in the pole vault by a height of 17"6'. Other West Florence state championship include in tennis(86, 87),boys basketball(1986), and girls basketball (1976).

West Florence was a Palmetto Gold Award Winner for improved student performance fours years in a row. The school had 108 Life Scholarship Recipients during the 2005-06 school year, 12 Palmetto Fellows and 66% of the Senior Class of 2006 graduated with honors. However, the school's Absolute Rating and Improvement Rating dropped in 2005 to Average and Unsatisfactory. In 2006, the average composite SAT score for West Florence students taking the test was 978, well below the national average of 1021. Including the new writing scores increases the gap with an average score for West Florence students of 1455 vs. the national average of 1518.
