West Buckland, Devon
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
West Buckland is a small village located 8 miles south-east of Barnstaple in North Devon, England. Reached by most from a winding, steep hill that leaves the North Devon Link Road, the village is perhaps most renowned for West Buckland School: educators of, amongst others, British world record triple-jumper Jonathan Edwards. Despite its name, the school is in fact located around a mile outside the village and it is the small church which draws most visitors from the local area. The village is served by a small post office along with an ageing village hall.
