West Bay Centre is a small community on the Western coast of Newfoundland. The population is about 300. This is the home of a fiddle player Alphonsus Young.He and his uncle Maxwell Hodder ( guitar player)has been playing at some of the Cape St. George's earlier festivals. They also play at verious fund raisers. Alphonsus is desended from six generations of Young ( Lejeune)fishing families which started in Larochelle France. The moose population is high in this part of the island. There are still a lot of fishermen here.
