[edit] Notability and deletion

While in my opinion high school articles are not note-worthy, I agree that there are plenty abound on this site. As such, I am in agreement with User: LaMenta3 that this article should not be deleted, and remain a valid article. However, I do agree with the inital proposal from User: Aventius that the final paragraph should be removed. This paragraph is certain self-promotion of the authro, and does not pertain any significance to the subject of the article itself. It is also not fair to include informtation on any awards or extra-curricular activities within the school, unless commenting on all such awards/extra-currculars, including athletics and arts programs. Singling out one specific extra-curricular activity and award is promoting favoritsm. Also, I believe this article should be expanded on to remain a vaild article. As for the mention of personal attack, I cannot comment on the matter as I do not know the detailed situation between the two authors, but it does not appear to be a personal attack from an outsider's point of view.Chefsize 03:54, 7 March 2007 (UTC)

I saw the addition of the information about the newspaper as just a step in eventually including other important achievements of the school's prominent organizations. As you will notice, there is a section on athletics in this article, but it is admittedly underdeveloped. A number of articles on schools and universities mention student media organizations to the exclusion of many other organizations within the institution, especially when the publication is not itself notable enough to have its own article. I would add additional content to develop this article, but I never attended school there and no longer live in the area, so I don't know enough about it. Perhaps I can contact some people I know who are more knowledgeable than I to develop the content. LaMenta3 04:15, 7 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Notability and deletion

This article has been in existence for over a year and has not been contested in its notability. Indeed it is notable for a high school as it is the largest in its district and located in one of Georgia's major cities (Macon), likely making it one of the largest high schools in the state. Further, the school is home to a fairly unique engineering magnet program. There are articles about much less notable high schools on Wikipedia, though I don't particularly advocate their deletion either. Also, it seems that the reason given for deletion is meant as a personal attack on one of the contributors to the article, which hardly seems appropriate. LaMenta3 02:43, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
