[edit] Europe ?

What does Europe have to do in here? I'm trying to visualise the extent of the so-called Western Regions, and, by finding "intersection of Asia and Europe", i figure that the regions would extend as far west as Turkey (ahem, formerly known to Europeans as Asia Minor), or Russia (the European part, that is, west of the Ural mountains). Looking at today's Xinjiang, we are rather far from any of these. I undertsand that the borders of regions must have shifted back and forth during history, but still...

Moreover, the name of this article is not specific enough, 'seems to me it should be renamed smthing like "Chinese western regions".
