I changed the date of the foundation from 1855 to 1856. My sources are http://www.mrcophth.com/Historyofophthalmology/ophthalmologyinuk.htm and http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/hospitalrecords/details.asp?id=720&page=69 , but I don't think it's worth including these references in the article.

The original article by Mrbubblefishman on 24 August 2006 said: "will celebrate its 150th birthday in november 2006" (now!), but this was edited out by ENeville on 9 September 2006 -- why? Isidore 19:21, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
