[edit] History

I'm a little sketchy on the history of the school, in terms of dates. The board's web site doesn't say much, and the timeline (see external links), isn't completely clear to me (and is even a little inconsistent with the board's). Ideally, there should be a full section on the history, with more sources. This could be the most interesting part of the article, if done properly (which I haven't). --rob 05:19, 30 September 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Tommy Chong

I removed Tommy Chong from the "notable alumni" list, as unverifiable. Chong was born in Edmonton. According to this CBC profile he did attend a Calgary high school, but dropped out. His family apparently lived on the outskirts of Calgary. Its not clear which high school he attended. Western was, of course, around at the time, and there were fewer high schools at the time, so its entirely possible he did attend Western. But, clearly, there's not sufficient (or any) verification yet, and sadly we can't use this (yet), even if somebody knows it to be true. If it is ever verified, I would love it to be added back. --Rob 01:58, 1 December 2005 (UTC)

I'm fairly sure that Tommy Chong did go to Western. I distinctly remember him being in a picture of past students in one of the hallways. Perhaps someone who's currenly at Western could verify?

According to his biography book. Tommy Chong went to Crescent Heights High School.--Thecker 18:53, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
