[edit] Crime rate

During the late 1970s to the early 1990s, Westbury began showing a high crime rate (due to apartments in neighboring Fondren Southwest), which has decreased in recent times with neighborhood patrols.

I am removing this entire sentence. I don't believe that it is necessary to mention the changing crime rate, nor is it entirely accurate that all the crime in Westbury came from Fondren Southwest.rockhopper10r 06:06, 2 Feb 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Regarding changes made by "24.173.14.169"

The references to the apartments surrounding Westbury Square was taken from a book of Houston architecture, now referenced. It is significant to the planning of the community.

The growing gay and lesbian population of this area is a very significant by-product of the gentrification of the inner neighborhoods. As for the artistic population, perhaps we travel in different circles, so I have left that out.

I cannot remember the source, but I have read that the Home Depot sits on approximately forty percent of the land originally held by Westbury Square. I cannot pin it down right now, so I will leave the percentage blank.
