Frank Bigelow Tarbell PHD.( 1853 – 1920) was a professer of Classic Studies at the University of Chicago from 1893 until his death in 1920. . He was also for a period an Associate Professor of Greek at that institution. . He published numerous books related to his field, including but not limited to 'A History of Greek Art' and 'The Philippics of Demosthenes'.

Frank Tarbel received his doccorate from yale University. He taught for a short while at that school..[1]
Professor Tarbell was one of the faculty members chosen to lay the cornerstone for the classics building on June 9, 1914.[2]
