Wendy Alec
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Wendy Alec is the co-founder and creative director of Britain's first religious television station GOD TV. She and her husband Rory Alec founded GOD TV in 1995 after the UK government changed the law regarding independent religious television broadcasting. Ten years on the couple are still leading a passionate television ministry which they use to promote their evangelical Christian beliefs. Although many of the programmes on GOD TV are imported from abroad (namely the US) or from recordings of partner ministries, the Alecs still host some of their own programmes including 'The Rory & Wendy Show.'
With a background in drama Wendy has become known for her enthusiastic presentational style. In recent years she has also become known within Christian circles as an author. 'Against All Odds' tells her story of the first ten years of GOD TV. 'Journal of the Unknown Prophet' she claims is a prophetic revelation given to her by God. More recently she has turned her hand to fiction by publishing the first of a trilogy called 'Chronicles of Brothers'. 'The Fall of Lucifer' tells the story of the early chapters of Genesis from the point of view of three Archangels. The next book in the series is going to be called 'Messiah' and is due for publication in October 2006. God TV uses high pressure tactics in advertising campaign to promote 'independent' publication of Mrs Alecs novels.
Although Wendy was born in London, she moved to South Africa as a child and had her first encounter with God there after several years as a rebellious young woman. Wendy married Rory Alec in 1987 at a ceremony in Durban and is now the mother of Christian and Samantha.
[edit] Criticisms
Some in the Christian church are critical of GOD TVs partner ministries such as televangelist Benny Hinn or/and of the channels charismatic empathsis.

'The Journal of the Unknown Prophet' (2005) ISBN 0-9540307-1-0
Chronicles of Brothers:- 'The Fall of Lucifer' (2005) ISBN 1-59185-814-3
'Messiah' (to be published in October 2006) -a mystery third novel will complete the trilogy.
A ten issue comic book version of 'The Fall Of Lucifer' was announced by Markosia in 2006, adapted by Tony Lee with art by Sam Hart - but only the first issue ever came out. It is believed that although mostly written and drawn, problems between the two sides have delayed printing indefinately, with the creators not being paid for their work.
