[edit] The 4th Kingdom

The 4th Kingdom is where Snow White was born and became Queen. Prince Wendell is the current ruler, although he is still in Snow White's shadow. He is an orphan whose parents were both poisoned by The Evil Queen. This Kingdom is located in the center of the lands, bordered by almost all the other kingdoms and is thus of immense strategic importance.

[edit] History

Born Wendell Winston Walter White, a Prince of the House of White - the ruling family of the 4th Kingdom; Wendell is the only son of King Whitney and Queen Ashley, and Wendell is the grandson of Queen Cinderella of the 1st Kingdom and the late Queen Snow White of the 4th Kingdom - two of The Five Woman Who Changed History for the Nine Kingdoms.

When Wendell was a young prince, he got a new nursemaid; unbeknownst to anyone, the new nursemaid was actually the new successor of Snow White's evil step-mother (now known as the Swamp Witch.) When Prince Wendell was still very young, his mother Queen Ashley died suddenly, Wendell mourned for his mother, and his nursemaid comforted Wendell's father, the widowed King Whitney later took her for his new wife and queen, making her Wendell's new step-mother. Time passed and Wendell's father also became ill, and later died in his bed - leaving the new queen in charge of the 4th Kingdom, until Prince Wendell became king on his 21st birthday.

A growing Prince Wendell (about early teens) become ill too, like his parents before him, the best physicians from all over the Nine Kingdoms were called to care for him; and on examination, the physicians concluded that Prince Wendell was being poisoned, and later the new queen was discovered to be the culprit, and now known as the Evil Queen, she was sentenced for her attempt on her step-son's life and incarcerated in the Snow White Memorial Prison.

The early deaths of his mother and father has caused Prince Wendell to develop a spoiled, carefree attitude towards his upcoming duties as the future king of the 4th Kingdom - preferring to indulge in activities like hunting and horseback riding then to pay any attention to learning how to become a good king, and trapped in the shadow of the legacy of his late grandmother Snow White.

When Prince Wendell turned 20 the Kingdoms started to prepare for his coronation banquet sending millions of gifts before he turned 21. Of course he was probably excited or just bored with the anixous people of the Kingdoms getting everything perfect for his coronation. But, a week before his birthday ball he experinced a big change in his life:

  • He was pushed around by the Troll Kids at the Snow White Memorial Prison.
  • His step-mother turned him into a dog.
  • He had to run for his life with the Trolls and a Wolf behind him.
  • He met Tony, and Virginia.
  • He got to see what his people are like up close.
  • He help solved a murder case.
  • He dealt with his inner emotions with Tony.
  • He got to see his grandmother for one last time.
  • He helped out with finding the mirror.
  • He stopped the Dog Prince from going any further.
  • He became a honest, responable, and kind-hearted young king.

[edit] Story of the 10th Kingdom

Note: This only covers the very beginning of the movie. A great deal of information still needs to be added.

While on their way to Beantown in the southern most corner of the 4th Kingdom to publicly accept a new throne made by the craftsmen in Beantown for his coronation, Prince Wendell and his old and faithful right-hand-man, his manservant called Giles, were making a brief stop at the Snow White Memorial Prison on a courtesy visit. Unbeknownst to them, the Troll King - Relish, had broken into the prison to break out his children and had also been enchanted into releasing Prince Wendell's step-mother, the Evil Queen.

After Giles is killed by the Trolls, Prince Wendell is ambushed in the entrance hall, ruffed up a bit, and for the first time in seven years, comes face to face with his evil step-mother - who has used her empty time in the cell to enchant a dog with magic. She casts a body-switching spell on the prince; Prince Wendell turns into a dog, and the dog turns into an exact likeness of Prince Wendell.

Now trapped in the form of a dog, Prince Wendell runs from his step-mother and the Trolls, heading deeper into the prison, and ends up in the cellars, knocking past centuries-old junk, and accidentally activates a misplaced Magic-Mirror, which becomes a portal to another world (Central Park - New York City); just as he is discovered by a half-human, half-wolf prisoner called Wolf, who was released by the Evil Queen to retrieve Prince Wendell straight to her.

The 'dogged' Prince Wendell jumps through the Magic-Mirror portal to escape, lands safely in Central Park, and collides with a young lady's bike; after waking up from the crash, Prince Wendell follows the young woman - Virginia Lewis - to her job at a restaurant, where Virginia's co-worker - Candy Fitzsimmons - coincidentally dubs the dog 'Prince'.

Too soon after being hidden by Virginia in a storage room, 'Prince' gets Virginia's attention by spelling DANGER in flour - and Virginia discovers that the dog 'Prince' can understand what she's saying, and decides to leave work early. While in New York, Prince is dependent on Virginia to guide and protect him; Prince follows Virginia home to her apartment building, where they discover that the three Trolls are there waiting (and all too interested in Virginia's and her father's shoes.)

After Virginia outsmarts the three Trolls, and traps them in an old and broken-down elevator, she heads off to the only place she can stay, over at her grandmother's apartment. Prince is right behind her and they both spend the night there. The next morning, after Virginia encounters Wolf, the two head off to Central Park, where Virginia tries to shake off Prince for her own safety, as nothing but strange things had happened since they first crossed paths. But Prince is reluctant to leave; he has no other allies. When Virginia's father shows up in Central Park in handcuffs to get answers about why strange things are happening suddenly, Tony Lewis uses his last wish: I wish I could understand everything this dog is saying.

Prince tells Tony that they are in terrible danger and that they have to find the Magic-Mirror - the way back. Virginia and Tony Lewis follow Prince Wendell through the Magic-Travelling-Mirror to the world of the Nine Kingdoms, where in the Snow White Memorial Prison, Prince tells Tony: I am Prince Wendell. Grandson to the late Snow White. And soon to be crowned King of the 4th Kingdom. The three enter Prince Wendell's step-mother's vacated prison cell in the hopes that there may be clues to what the Evil Queen was up to, when the three Trolls abduct Virginia and trap Tony and Prince Wendell in the Evil Queen's cell. (Tony was still handcuffed, unable to try and stop them, and Prince Wendell was too deeply embarrassed about being a dog to have helped anyway.) After they are both discovered in the Evil Queen's cell, the Prison Governor questions Tony about how the Evil Queen escaped and does not believe that the dog is really Prince Wendell. Eventually, he has Tony locked up and plans to poison the dog.

Wendell and 'Anthony', as Wendell has taken to addressing Tony, try to escape from the prison before 'Prince' ends up eating the poisoned food that the Governor leaves for him. 'Prince' gets 'Anthony' the Governor's master key. Tony makes an impression of it in a soap bar and makes a copy, but he is discovered before they can escape, and the two are punished. When Prince Wendell overhears the Governor and the Warders talking and deciding to have the cellar cleared out in the hopes that they can find out if the Evil Queen escaped that way, Prince Wendell puts Tony Lewis's name on the work detail, because the Magic-Mirror was still down in the cellars.

When Virginia and Wolf sneak back into the Snow White Memorial Prison, via Magic-Shoes that render them invisible, to get Tony, Prince Wendell and the Magic-Mirror, Virginia and Wolf find Prince Wendell first - who leads them to Tony's cell. Tony, had by then, already escaped with two other inmates through a tunnel out of their cell, and Virginia, Wolf and 'Prince' go through the tunnel, catch up with Tony, and discover that the Magic-Mirror has already left - via boat sailing way by Acorn the Dwarf.

  • At least as far back as his Grandmother, Snow White, blood members of the House of White all have names beginning with W: Snow White's son's was named Whitney, and Wendell's full name is Wendell Winston Walter White.
  • Wendell's favourite snack is hot drinking chocolate and a cheese sandwich.
  • On King Wendell's crown there are Peals, Diamonds, and Emaralds. From the way that the jewels are set up each one represents the current ruler, the his father, and last the kingdom which they rule. Of course the Nine Kingdoms are traditional. King Wendell has a double reflection to him. The Good Side: Kind, honest, talkive, charming, bright, friendly, loves to play sports (Hunting). Bad Side: bored, lazy, easily hurt (his parent's deaths), easily distracted, and stubborn. By all of these Wendell turned 21 in 1999/2000 (by the date on the movie). Until his 21st birthday, his throne and crown were held in trust for Prince Wendell, by the Lords, noblemen and his royal advisors.
  • Prince/King Wendell's Coronation was planned by one of his royal advisors: Lord Rupert - who spent two and a half years planning and prepearing for the Royal Coronation Ball as well as the Coronation itself.
  • The currency of the 4th Kingdom is: The Wendell; after Prince/King Wendell. Wendells' are available in Gold Coins and Paper Notes (see: Money / Props from The 10th Kingdom).
