From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Wells High School is a public secondary school located in Wells, Maine. It has a population of approximately 500 students in grades 9 through 12, and approximately 50 faculty members. The school primarily serves students from Wells and Ogunquit, as well as a small number of students from Acton.
As of the 2006-2007 school year, the principal is Dr. Milton J. Teguis and the assistant principal is Ms. Eileen Sheehy.
The school mascot is the Warrior and the title of the yearbook is Abenaki. Both names reflect the significance of Native Americans in the history of Wells.
The building that currently houses Wells High School was constructed in 1977 at 222 Sanford Road. The former high school building, built in 1937 and located on Post Road, became a junior high school in 1978. The 1977 building vaguely resembles the letter "W" when viewed from the air.
