WellCare Health Plans, Inc. NYSE: WCG began operations in 1985 and is based out of Tampa, Florida. Regional offices are located in Miami, Florida; Manhattan, New York; North Haven, Connecticut; Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Marietta, Georgia; and Chicago, Illinois.

The Wellcare Group is the holding company for several subsidiaries, including WellCare, Staywell, HealthEase, Harmony and PreferredOne.

The company has approximately 2,500 associates, over 20,000 physician partners in its network and a membership of more than 855,000. Currently, it exists as 1 of 10 health plans offering Medicare Prescription Drug Plans (PDPs) nationally.
