- Welcome to the Monkey House is also the name of an assortment of short stories written by Kurt Vonnegut.
- Ron English painted the cover art for the album.
- "We Used To Be Friends" is used as the theme song for Veronica Mars and is featured on Music from The O.C. Vol. 1 as well as the Fox series Wonderfalls. It was also used as the theme song for the Australian reality TV show, My Restaurant Rules, and is one of the tracks on FIFA 2004. It was also mashed-up with Beastie Boys' "Intergalactic" under the title "Intergalactic Friends".
- 9 Songs movie has live performance of "The Last High" as one of its episodes.
- The song "I Am A Scientist" is used as the opening theme to the radio show This Week in Science, and was used on Sky's Brainiac: Science Abuse.
