Welcome to Hell is the 1981 debut album by the NWOBHM band Venom. While the genre "black metal" may have not been named until Venom's second album, it can be noted that while "Welcome to Hell" contains common speed metal elements, yet it has a somewhat darker and doomed feel, a characteristic of black metal. Dave Grohl cited this as one of his favorite albums.
