Continuing from the previous episode, Tom taps into the inner power of Maxxor and saves himself before being beaten, and begins to turn the match around, finally defeating Sam Shady with his Fortissimo Mugic. Afterward, Kaz explains that when Tom entered his scanner code, he was split into two seperate beings, with his original self left in the real world, and the other side ended up in Chaotic, while the real world deck is locked so that players can play Chaotic here. In order for him to return, both Toms must press the transfer button on their scanners at relatively the same time. Unfortunately, the Tom back at Earth had thrown his scanner in the trash. So, Kaz tells Tom to ask him a secret he didn't know so that the Tom back home would believe him, since he didn't know at all about Chaotic. After Kaz transports back to Earth to find Tom's earth scanner, another Chaotic player, Klay, who watched Tom's first match, tricks Tom into transporting into the other side of Chaotic: Perim, in a scheme to get rid of the competition. Meanwhile, Kaz tries to convice the other Tom that what he said about Chaotic is true, finally telling him the secret Tom told him in Chaotic so that he would believe him, which works. But at that time, the garbage truck picks up the trash with the scanner in it, and they both give chase. Back in Perim, Tom had been transported to Lake Ken-I-Po, and he meets Sarah, who explains the rules of Perim, where everything is real. Here, they can scan mosters, Battle Gear, Locations, and Mugic to get their codes and use them in the game, but because everything was here, the players could actually get hurt here. They encounter Nauthilax, an Underworlder, who is trying to spy on Mezzmar, an Overworlder, which is the monster Sarah is looking for. He discovers the kids and attacks them, but Mezzmar defends them, and the resulting battle leaves him weakened. Tom tries to save him, and when Nauthilax is about to attack, Najarin, the keeper of the castle of Lake Ken-I-Po, sends him off with his magic. Then, using the Song of Healing Mugic, he heals Mezzmar, who thanks Tom's valiant efforts to protect him. After he leaves, Tom tries to scan Najarin, but he is stopped, being told that he must first earn that right. Back on earth, Kaz and Tom are in the junkyard, trying to recover his scanner, and Tom manages to save it from being crushed. He follows Kaz's instructions, and his Chaotic self is united with him, and he gains the memories of Chaotic. He apologizes to Kaz for insulting him, and Kaz just shrugs it off, and they both return home.
