Welcome to Atlanta is the second single off of Jermaine Dupri's album Instructions and also appeared as a hidden track on Ludacris' album, Word of Mouf right after the track "Bonus Track: Block Lockdown". The music video shows a tour bus being taken around Atlanta by the duo while they rap over it. The music video has appearances by Creflo Dollar[1], Lil Jon, Lil Bow Wow, Da Brat, Young Buck, T.I., Monica, Blaque, Usher, Brandi Williams, and Big Tigger. It was directed by Marc Klasfeld. It samples "Five Minutes Of Funk" by Whodini

[edit] Remix
Welcome To Atlanta (coast to coast remix) is a remix of the single that settled at the #183 spot in the end-year chart of 2002 after peaking the Billboard Hot 100 at 35, and 15-14 on the R&B and Rap Top 100 respectively. A lesser known aspect of this song is that Jermaine Dupri's verse on this song was heavily influenced by the song "Five Minutes Of Funk" by Whodini. It has also became the anthem of the Atlanta Falcons. Originally the remix was meant to be a promotion video for the upcoming Like Mike movie starring Bow Wow but it was left out of the soundtrack album and was listed in the So So Def remix compilation released in the same month. Though an outro was left where the four rappers passing a basketball to each other through the continent.
Jermaine Dupri responded with the video to the abuses of the Aftermath roster. Precedently Dr. Dre called JD "Papa Smurf" and "Mini-Me", while Eminem named him "gay midget", with Xzibit on the same song labelled Dupri "Tattoo, a.k.a the Leprechaun, a.k.a. Jermaine Dupri" and also a "cockeyed midget with a Napoleon complex" and a "Nickelodeon fetish" (the last one refers to the kid rappers' albums that was produced by So So Def). JD replied with a mix diss song and with this video at the same time. It demonstrates the nationwide influence of JD and his higher role in the hip-hop industry (the biggest step was to get Snoop involved in the project because of his close ties with the Aftermath artists) [1]. Meanwhile in the same month JD, Xzibit and Nate Dogg participated in the Rap edition of The Weakest Link. JD was voted off by Nate and XZ after the first round with no practical reasons, where JD protested with saying "They're hating on me". Though Nate Dogg participated in JD's Instructions released in 2001 in the song "Ballin' Out Of Control".
The original video concept was about presenting the different districts of Atlanta. The remix extended it to all the coasts of the US with every side being represented by local rappers.

It starts with Jermaine Dupri coming out from the Dunk N Dine diner mixed with flashing pictures from the highway leading to Atlanta. He is seen wearing T-shirt a drawn face of Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes, which is an obvious tribute to her (deceased in April the same year). He is joined by fellow Atlantans including Lil Jon and Jazze Pha in the parking lot of the Magic City strip club. In the lyrics and some seconds-long camera shots he refers to hometown places Fuel, Kaya, Velvet Room, Club 112, Strokers club, Ritz club, Shark Bar, and Plush Limousine Service.

Snoop invites the whole LBC to have a party with him at the same spot where they had one 9 years earlier in the square in front of the World Famous V.I.P. Records store, where Snoop performs his verse mounting the top of the building, like he did during the What's My Name video shoot. He also presents his Snoop Deville lowrider car, which was later used in the "From tha Chuuuch to da Palace" music video too. Some people of Snoop's entourage show up on the set, including Soopafly and Uncle Junebug.
