[edit] Deletion of theme song lyrics
It is against Wikipedia rules to post non-public domain song lyrics as this is copyright violation, so I have removed the lyrics from the theme song that had been posted here. 23skidoo 04:48, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

- And you try to remember to do research before making unsubstantiated claims. Song lyrics cannot be quoted in their entirety. Read this. A line or two is fine. Welcome Back, Kotter is now on the i TV network. 7:00-7:30 and 7:30-8:00 Friday nights EST. Shadow the Hedgehog 23 October
The info I have is the Boston affiliate that initially refused to air Kotter aired Space 1999 instead. (154.5.166.187 06:36, 1 March 2007 (UTC))

What about Freddy Boom-Boom Washington's use of the word 'handy' accompanied by a charming smile? As in:
Mr. Kotter: Freddy, where's your assignment?
Freddy: My assignment? Yes, Mr. Kotter. I have my assignment. Unfortunately, I don't have it here ... handy ...
