WEJC is a non-commercial, contemporary Christian FM radio station licensed to serve White Star, Michigan with a transmitter at Gladwin. The station broadcasts on 88.3, and is owned by Superior Communications (aka Michigan Community Radio and Northland Community Broadcasters), in turn owned by Jennifer and Edward Czelada.
WEJC began broadcasting in 2001 as The Light. In June of 2004 it merged with the other The Light and Joy FM stations owned by Superior Communications to form Smile FM. Programming with local inserts originates from WLGH in Lansing.
The station orignally broadcast with 30 kW, but has a construction permit to increase power to 80 kW. In December 2006 the station applied for a modification of its construction permit. The modification, if accepted, would move the station to a new tower between Midland and Bay City and operate with 55 kW. It would provide a strong signal in the Midland, Bay City and Saginaw area.
