WEFM (Trinidad and Tobago)

WEFM is an FM station broadcasting on 96.1 MHz in the country of Trinidad and Tobago. The station is also known affectionately as 'young-people ting' by the over 30's, with respect to the station catering to a predominantly young adult demographic in Trinidad and Tobago. WEFM carries little talk and plays mostly an urban array of music, with Rap, R&B, Reggae, Soca music and Entertainment news being presented in daily rotation. The station carries more of a party type atmosphere with DJs spinning fast music in a DJing style format.

Trinidad and Tobago Radio Network Limited, 96. 1 W.E.F.M is a privately owned, commercial radio station which began broadcasting on December 16th, 1993. It was started by one of one of the country's best disc jockeys Anthony Chow Lin On, a.k.a., Chinese Laundry and nightclub owner Johnny Soong, 96.1 W.E.F.M revolutionized radio programming in TNT.

DJ's from this station could be found at some of the island's best night clubs including Celeb's, Club Coconut, and more recently the newly established Zen Night Club.

DJ groups from this station revolutionised the art of DJ-ing in the country, with DJs like Hoppy (Hyper-Hoppy), Akeil and Associated Degree, Tweez and Arilan the Art Man just to name a few. Additionally, talk show host such as Paul Richards and Nicky Crosby (7:00 - 9:00 am) and Rachel Price and Tweez - The price is right (4:00 - 6:00pm) are renowned for their quick wit, sense of humor and their levelof fairness towards all issues.
