Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that exist to attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policies for further explanations of links that are considered appropriate. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. See the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. Webrats 08:55, 30 November 2006 (UTC)I followed the polices which i read and understood, i added a great resource for people to find out more information
please do not edit it out, as its in line with other links in the article.
Please reread WP:EL immediately; among other thing, Wikipedia cannot link to sites that engage in copyright violations. Please stop now, or you will be blocked. RadioKirk (u|t|c) 03:34, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
I did look. This site does not own copyrights to any videos I have seen. Also, judging by your username, are you also violating policy on linking to a site you own? RadioKirk (u|t|c) 03:43, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
There is absolutely 0 indication I can find that this site is licensed to carry these videos in any way; you have to point me to proof or the site links cannot stay, discussion or no, per WP:EL and WP:COPY, the latter of which is a non-negotiable policy. RadioKirk (u|t|c) 03:52, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
What you "read one time at the site" is not proof of anything; and, notice, many artists are listed that have nothing to do with Universal, which may be why I can't find such an assertion now. Please understand, this is not a matter of opinion, this is a matter of US copyright law and Wikipedia policy that is non-negotiable, because we cannot knowingly subject the encyclopedia to potential legal action. Again, I must ask that you read both WP:COPY and WP:EL and, rather than argue with me against policy and guidelines, take up any issues you may still have on the talk pages of those projects. I noticed also that you removed some bad links from William Shatner; that was a good edit. RadioKirk (u|t|c) 04:00, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
And, here is the paragraph that outlines the problem: to host these videos is a copyright violation, and to hotlink videos from official sites that do not authorize such linking is itself a copyright violation; as such, the link to webratsmusic cannot be allowed. Even if copyright were not an insurmountable issue—and, it's not—this link also fails WP:EL#Links normally to be avoided #s 1, 3 and 5. RadioKirk (u|t|c) 04:16, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
The article itself is questionable; it seems to establish notability for a website that possibly should not get a direct link. An articles for deletion request should be made (if it hasn't already) to determine the article's status, one way or the other. RadioKirk (u|t|c) 04:28, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
Please do not replace Wikipedia pages with blank content. Blank pages are harmful to Wikipedia because they have a tendency to confuse readers. If it is a duplicate article, please redirect it to an appropriate existing page. If the page has been vandalised, please revert it to the last legitimate version. If you feel that the content of a page is inappropriate, please edit the page and replace it with appropriate content. If you believe there is no hope for the page, please see the deletion policy for how to proceed. —bbatsell ¿? 04:43, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

You have been warned in the past about inserting links to webratsmusic.com in Wikipedia. If you continue to insert this link, I will make a vandalism report. It also appears from your username and past warnings that you have some association with Webratsmusic and webrats and your inserts are considered self promotion and spam links for that reason as well. PLease do not reinsert. Caper13 02:01, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. MKoltnow 11:49, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
This is your last warning. The next time you insert a spam link, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Persistent spammers may have their websites blacklisted as well, preventing anyone from linking to them from any site that uses the MediaWiki spam blacklist, which includes all of Wikimedia and Wikipedia. Your external links point to copyrighted files. Further, your edit pattern shows that you are replacing a competitor's links with your own. Please stop. MKoltnow 01:39, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Webrats
I have looked at the article once again. The website has an Alexa rank fluctuating between 20.000 and over 100.000 (currently about 33.000), which is not particularly good. The article didn't give any claim of notability or any information at all, with the exception of vague (and unsourced/unverified) statements that it was "one of the first webzines on the Internet", and that it has become a "very high traffic software trading site". It wasn't edited for two weeks since creation.
Please have a look at our speedy deletion criteria (especially A7 - no claim of notability) and notability guidelines for websites; since you seem to be involved with the website, the page on possible conflict of interest may also be relevant. And since you mention OffTopic.com, is your site equally or more significant? If not, then your comparison is of no value. - Mike Rosoft 13:12, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
- If you believe that your website meets the WP:WEB guidelines, you can try creating an article about it again. However, you should provide references to verify that this is the case; if you don't, the article will soon be deleted again. And you should make sure that you write about it in a neutral way; in other words, don't create a promotional page. - Mike Rosoft 22:58, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] talk page
Please do not remove content from your talk page; other users will utilize this page as a way of seeing past discussion, and removing things can be seen as disruptive if you appear to be trying to hide something. You may wish to consider archiving old discussions; take a look at the move page if you would like to learn more about moving and renaming articles. - Mike Rosoft 01:10, 20 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Admin noticeboard
I think that your tone on my talk page and your behaviour regarding the speedy deletion of Threepipe (particularly the comment on its talk page) violates policy on no personal attacks. I have placed a notice on the admin noticeboard for incidents and wanted you to be informed. MKoltnow 04:23, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Edit summaries
When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:
The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.
Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field, especially for big edits or when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you. — ERcheck (talk) 11:38, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
