"Weaving a Story" is an episode of the anime series Neon Genesis Evangelion.

The first half of this episode is a clip show in the form of a report by SEELE reviewing Gendo’s actions, summarizing the first season of episodes and the story up until this point. In the next half, Dr. Akagi conducts an experiment to determine if pilots can be switched between the Eva units they normally pilot. Rei can synch with Eva 01 fairly well, but when Shinji attempts to synch with Eva 00 it goes berserk inside of the base.

• This marks the only time that switching pilots between Eva units has ever been tested. Rei could actually synch fairly well with Eva Unit 01, but Eva Unit 00 went berserk when Shinji tried to synch with it.
  • Later during the fight against the Angel Zeruel, in desperation an attempt is made to launch Eva Unit 01 with Rei as the pilot, but that time the Eva voluntarily rejects synchronizing with Rei.
• The animation of Eva Unit 00 going berserk is clearly just a reuse and recoloring of the scene in which it went berserk in episode 5; it does not have the shoulder blade "fins" it received after episode 6.
• Eva Unit 00 smashed a window that Rei was standing directly behind (and which other staff members were behind as well), meanwhile Ritsuko feels that Eva Unit 00 was trying to attack herself.
