We have a technical

"We Have A Technical" was released on the re-issued Replicas CD.
It is set in the same Burroughsian / Phildickian world as the rest of his early work and seems to deal with the "downstat" future thought-criminal established in "Only A Downstat" from the point of view of a police dispacher monitoring them ("We have a random on the westside / Personality malfunction") and of one of the downstat's own sleazy personal contacts ("He says I cant give you anything at all / Just a room with a bad view of you") . The lyrics also reprise the desire of Numan's androids to be human ("I could crawl around the floor just like I'm real") which themselves may be a metaphor for his own admitted autism.
