We're NBC, Just Watch Us Now
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
We're NBC, Just Watch Us Now was the slogan NBC used during the 1982-83 Television season. During this season, several new NBC programs debuted:
- St. Elsewhere
- Remington Steele
- Silver Spoons
- Cheers
- Family Ties
- Voyagers
- Mama's Family (Mid-Season Replacement)
- The A-Team (Mid-season Replacement, which also was the first program to debut after the Super Bowl in 1983.)
- The Devlin Connection (Delayed from previous season after Rock Hudson underwent heart surgery).
- The Powers of Matthew Star
In addition, three long-running NBC programs, Little House on the Prairie, Quincy, M.E. and CHiPs ended their runs at the end of this season.
During this time, NBC was credited as being "the network that swept the Emmys." But even after the end of the season, NBC still held a third place stand in the ratings, which would continue through the 1983-84 season (See Be There).
Again, like most NBC promos, there were localized versions, two examples being WBZ in Boston (now with CBS) and WRC in Washington, DC. Seven Network in Australia adopted this campaign as "Channel 7, Watch Us Now".
