[edit] Re: Fixed user page

Thanks for that. But in the future, please tag your entries with the four tildas (I'm guessing it was you anyways). Mooseofshadows 01:51, 18 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re: User:Wdflake

Oh come on, WD, that was just in good fun. No need to go sanctioning me about it. And seriously, tag your stuff the first time! Mooseofshadows 01:20, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

  • RE: Re:User:Wdflake I know. That's why a used a light warning tag. --Wdflake 01:22, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Johnston Diagram

I like the SVG Johnston diagrams you made, particularity the gray borders instead of blue. --Midnightcomm 21:47, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image Data

I'm trying to convert graphs that had been uploaded in formats other than SVG (for more info, see the project's page). One of the graphs is Image:BeestonPop.GIF, which you created. Do you have the actual population data that was used to make this chart? If you do, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. --W. Flake ( talk | contribs ) 00:47, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Sorry

My apologies for wasting your time by creating the nonsense category Wikipedians who stop the cars and wave in the children.
Please accept this peace dove.
Wdflake

[edit] that was adorable

Thanks for the peace dove!--Mike Selinker 08:45, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] your apology

no apology needed. I wanted to keep your cute category. SchmuckyTheCat 16:32, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

Don't worry about it. It wasn't really a waste of time. Good luck with your future editing. —Cswrye 17:46, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

I have to agree with the sentiments above. In no way did you waste my time (any more than saying editing Wikipedia is a waste of our time : ) - Though I do thank you for the dove. : ) - jc37 14:47, 11 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Psi

I see that you're a bit stressed in relation to articles related to Shakespeare's works. For that, and for the above, here's an award for you, in the hopes that such stress may evaporate and leave you happier and healthier : ) - jc37 15:09, 11 December 2006 (UTC)

The PSI - is awarded to polite, courteous, and helpful users as a blessing for good mental health. Awarded by: jc37 15:09, 11 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] peace dove

how come you never offer me a peace dove when u screw up? jkjk. Thank you for your 1000th edit. I hope you can achieve many more. (maybe one day we can stop the cars and wave in the children.) ;-) 75.176.154.64 23:35, 15 December 2006 (UTC)

My sincerest apologies to all others who were affected by my category. I debated placing a dove User:68.39.174.238's page, but decided against it for IP Addresses change frequently. Please, anonymous user, accept a dove. --W. Flake ( talk | contribs ) 03:52, 16 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Changing signed comments

Thanks for bypassing misspelt redirects and doing other cleanup work - as you can see from my user page, I also do a lot of that work. However please don't bypass misspelt redirects where there are people's signed comments; it reduces the authenticity of the comment and in one case, this edit made the comment make no sense. I'd accept the image edit at talk:mathematics because after the JPG version is deleted, the original comment would make no sense. I understand that special:whatlinkshere doesn't have a namespace filter so those talk links may be distracting; however one may be added in the future and I don't believe the integrity of talk comments should be compromised. Graham87 09:42, 16 December 2006 (UTC)

Ok. Thanks for the feedback. I'll stop fixing the talk pages. --W. Flake ( talk | contribs ) 22:36, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
Sorry about the short reply above; I was on my way out the door. I must admit that I had not read the talk page guidelines prior to starting these cleanup activities. Regarding the edit that made little sense, that one I'm really sorry about, for I was merely updating links without looking at the context. I appreciate your feedback, and will strive to maintain a higher level of quality in future edits. --W. Flake ( talk | contribs ) 04:14, 17 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Does Terry de la Mesa Allen, Jr. deserve his own wiki-page?

As you were a contributor to the article Battle of Ong Thanh please consider joining the discussion at this link on whether the American leader of the battle Terry de la Mesa Allen, Jr. who died in the fighting is notable enough to deserve his own wiki-page. I intend to enlarge the article but it was speedily deleted within an hour of its creation and now after much discussion it has been undeleted but is under review whether it should be allowed to continue to exist. Originally the person who deleted it placed the following on the Afd discussion page

Persons claim to fame is being the son of a famous US General. He became Lt. Col. (probably with a little help from his daddy), cockily chased some charlies in Vietnam, and got killed in the resulting ambush together with his unit. After his death he had some media coverage due to his famous daddy. Also, his wife left him for a rodeo clown. Two books available and one movie upcoming about the battle. In my opinion borderline notability at best, but as always i am willing to be convinced otherwise.

Thankfully he has been talked into revising this statement to be less insulting but I feel there is much bias against this article for no logical reason - right now the article is just a stub but its hard to expand something if you think its just going to be deleted.--Wowaconia 05:26, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] undiscussed move?

You moved Administrative Review Board to Administrative Review Board (military) without any discussion?

Don't you think you should have discussed this move first? -- Geo Swan 07:49, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

Whoops, sorry. I, um, forgot. I was trying to fulfill a request by another user (I can't recall his name right now). Sorry about that. What should I do at this point? I'm open to anything. W. Flake (talk) 19:29, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
I was planning to file a wikipedia:requested move, to move Administrative Review Board (military) back to Administrative Review Board. I already created an Administrative Review Board (disambiguation). Both Administrative Review Board (military) and Administrative Review Board (Labor) currently refer readers to Administrative Review Board (disambiguation). Unfortunately, this ambiguous name has been chosen for many review bodies.
I am going to apologize for sounding cross. The convention is that disambiguation links shouldn't be piped links. So I thought, at first, that you had created a new Administrative Review Board that was about the Labor ARB,
Cheers! -- Geo Swan 19:46, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
Ok. Sorry for not discussing this earlier. W. Flake (talk) 19:52, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Piano Sonata No. 32 (Beethoven)

I'd like to help with the translation effort for [1], as I said on its talk page; I don't need to put my name on any lists before I start, do I? Quendus 12:59, 30 January 2007 (UTC)

Please jump in and help. After agreeing to the project, I found the language a bit beyond my translation skills, so I've been brushing up on the language. Please help me out. Just pick a spot and translate away! Thanks for your help. W. Flake (talk) 23:18, 30 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Laziness

Dear Mr. Flake, It has come to my attention that it has been some time since you have made a positive contribution to wikipedia. I must admit that laziness is not an attractive quality for an upstanding person such as yourself. You have an outstanding edit record, and it is a shame that your activities on wikipeda have come to a stop, and I pray that your hiatus is only temporary. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Crazybacongirl (talkcontribs) 00:03, 7 March 2007 (UTC).

Though I do enjoy contributing to the project, I have been forced to take a Wikivaction. I hope to resume my previous level of editing as soon as schooling permits. Thanks for the concern. W. Flake (talk) 01:02, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
