WCKW is a traditional Gospel music outlet serving the New Orleans area, most notably the River Parishes of St. John the Baptist, St. Charles and St. James.

The station, which is owned by River Parishes Radio, broadcasts at 1010 kHz with 500 W-Daytime/42 W-Nighttime power.

[edit] History

The station signed on in 1970 as Country outlet WKQT and was the sister station of WCKW-FM. By 1973 both stations became simulcasts with the AM becoming WCKW-AM in 1985. After the FM flipped to Active Rock, the AM was sold and switched it to its current format.
