WCAP-AM operates on frequency 980 in Lowell, MA. The station began operation in 1951, and since has remained under the ownership of Maurice Cohen (his brother Israel <Ike> was the cofounder, he is now deceased).

WCAP's seasonal programming also includes live broadcasts of Lowell Devils hockey. The station had broadcast Lowell Spinners baseball for many years, but lost the rights to WLLH, the ESPN Radio affiliate, in 2007. [1]
